Clear the Three Card Peaks

Tripeaks Solitaire is a classic card game where the main goal is to remove all the cards from three peaks. The cards form three small mountain-shaped groups on the table. A separate card starts the discard pile, and you use that card to decide which exposed cards you can remove next. The game rewards careful choices because one good move can open several new cards.

The basic rule is easy to learn. You can remove an exposed card when its rank is one higher or one lower than the card on top of the discard pile. For example, a 7 can follow a 6 or an 8. The suit does not matter. When you play a card, it becomes the new card that controls your next move.

Build Long Card Chains

The best part of Tripeaks Solitaire comes from creating a long chain of moves. Suppose the current card shows a 6. You might play a 7, then an 8, then a 9, and continue as long as matching cards remain available. Every card you remove can uncover another card higher in the peaks. This makes the order of your moves important.

When no exposed card fits the current card, you draw another card from the stock pile. That new card becomes the card you use for the next move. The stock cannot simply be ignored because it gives you new chances to continue clearing the peaks. You win by removing all 28 cards from the three peaks before you run out of useful moves.

Think Before You Remove a Card

Tripeaks Solitaire becomes more interesting when you start looking at the cards that will become available after each move. Some cards sit underneath others, so you cannot use them until the cards covering them disappear. Clearing one part of the board can reveal a valuable card that extends your current chain.

A player who removes cards without looking ahead can miss a useful chain. It helps to check the exposed cards and think about which move opens more of the board. The ace can connect with the king and the two in versions that use that rule, which creates extra ways to continue a sequence.

Simple Rules With Plenty of Strategy

Tripeaks Solitaire does not need fast reflexes or complicated controls. You simply select the card you want to play. The challenge comes from recognizing possible chains and deciding when to use a card from the stock. This makes the game easy for new players while still giving experienced players plenty to think about.
