Control a Car With a Giant Flail

Brutal.io is an online multiplayer arena game where you control a small car with a spiked flail attached behind it. Other players enter the same arena with their own cars and weapons. Your goal is to grow stronger and knock rival cars out of the match.

The flail serves as your main weapon. You can drag it behind your vehicle or launch it away from the car. A well-placed hit can destroy another player. A poor move can leave your own car open to attack.

Movement uses the mouse. Your car follows the direction of the pointer. This makes the basic controls easy to learn. The harder part comes from learning how the flail moves while your vehicle changes direction.

Grow Your Flail With Energy

Brutal.io starts you with a small weapon. You can collect energy scattered around the map to make the flail larger.

Defeated players also leave useful energy behind. Picking it up can give your score a strong boost. A larger flail covers more space and becomes harder for other players to avoid.

Size does not guarantee safety. A smaller opponent can still defeat a large player with a clever attack. Your car remains the important target. An enemy only needs to land the right hit on it.

This keeps Brutal.io competitive even after someone grows a huge weapon.

Throw the Flail and Pull It Back

A key skill in Brutal.io involves releasing the flail. A click sends it away from your car. You can then call it back toward you.

This creates several ways to attack. You can throw the weapon toward a nearby opponent. You can leave it in a useful position and move your car somewhere else. Pulling the flail back can also catch someone who moves between the weapon and your vehicle.

The same tool works for attack and defence. Keeping the spiked ball close can discourage another player from approaching your car.

Stay Away From Dangerous Areas

The arena contains more than rival players. Red electrical hazards can damage your flail and take away some of the energy you have collected.

The central area also contains a black hole and other dangers. Green sentinels can appear there and cause trouble for careless players.

These hazards make positioning important. Chasing another car without watching the surroundings can send you into danger.

Fight for the Red Flail

Brutal.io also includes a powerful red flail. Getting it gives your weapon a special electrical effect for a limited time. It can shock other flails and steal some of their energy.

The power makes its owner dangerous, but other players know that too. Carrying the red flail can quickly turn you into a major target.

Brutal.io keeps its rules simple while giving players plenty of ways to fight. Grow your weapon, control its movement, watch the hazards, and protect your car. Every encounter can change quickly when several giant flails start flying around the arena.
