Take Your Tank Into Battle

Awesome Tanks is a top-down tank shooting game where you control a small tank and fight your way through enemy-filled levels. The game uses a simple view from above, which lets you see the tank, enemies, walls, and other objects around the battlefield. The main goal is to destroy all the enemies in each level while keeping your own tank safe.

The controls are easy to understand. You can move the tank with the WASD keys or Arrow Keys. The mouse controls the aim and fires the weapon. You can also switch between weapons with the Spacebar, Q and E, or the number keys. This setup lets you drive and aim at the same time.

Destroy Enemies and Collect Coins

Every battle gives you a clear target. Enemy tanks and other defenses stand in your way, and you need to clear the level before moving ahead. The game also includes stronger enemy types and larger boss tanks. Fixed turrets add another danger because they can attack while staying in one position.

Destroying enemies earns coins. You can spend those coins on upgrades for your tank. The original game includes improvements for armor, visibility, turret speed, and movement speed. Better upgrades help the tank handle tougher battles and make it easier to move through later levels.

Choose the Right Weapon

Awesome Tanks gives the player six weapons to use. The choices include a minigun, shotgun, ricochet weapon, cannon, rockets, and laser. Each weapon works in a different way, so changing weapons can help when the battlefield becomes difficult.

The levels also contain walls, obstacles, and areas that require careful movement. Players can use the surroundings while fighting instead of simply driving straight toward every enemy. This makes positioning an important part of the game.

The original Awesome Tanks contains 15 levels, with different enemies, obstacles, scenery, and enemy-producing points. A level editor also becomes available, giving players another way to experiment with the game after completing the main challenge.

The simple controls make Awesome Tanks easy to start, while the weapon choices and upgrades give players more to manage as they progress. Driving, aiming, collecting coins, improving the tank, and clearing enemy positions all work together to create a straightforward tank battle experience that fits the classic Flash game style.
