The red piece, known as the queen, adds another important part to the game. After pocketing the queen, you need to pocket one of your own carrom men on the following shot to cover it. Failing to cover the queen sends it back to the center of the board. This rule makes the final part of a match more important because simply taking the queen does not complete the job.

Good players in Carrom King pay attention to more than the piece they want to pocket. The striker can hit several pieces during one shot, and a careless strike can give the opponent an easier position. It helps to think about where the striker and other pieces will stop after the shot.
Sinking the striker also has a cost. When the striker falls into a pocket, you lose one of your pieces. This makes wild shots risky and gives you another reason to aim with care.
