Race Across the Water

Microboats is a fast 3D boat racing game that puts you behind the controls of a small speedboat. The goal centers on racing around tracks and reaching the finish ahead of the computer-controlled racers. The game gives each race a clear focus on speed and steering. You need to follow the course while keeping your boat under control through turns and tricky sections.

The controls stay simple. The Up Arrow makes the boat accelerate, while the Left and Right Arrow keys steer it. The Space Bar changes the camera view. You can also press R to restart a race and P to pause the game.

Microboats uses three difficulty cups. Each cup gives you another set of races to complete. The game also includes ghost racers that you can challenge. Winning races helps unlock new boats and characters, giving you more options as you continue playing.

Steering takes some practice because the boat moves quickly. Sharp turns can make you lose your line and fall behind the other racers. Good timing helps you turn without giving up too much speed. The camera button also comes in handy because a different view can make some parts of the track easier to judge.

The tracks contain obstacles that can cause trouble. Exploding barrels appear on the racing courses, so you need to watch the water ahead instead of focusing only on the other boats. Avoiding an obstacle can save valuable time and keep your race moving smoothly.

Compete Against Computer Racers

A major part of Microboats comes from racing against computer opponents. You are not simply trying to finish the course. You also need to beat the other boats. A small mistake during a turn can give another racer the chance to move ahead.

The game also has an unusual replay feature. Through its Gameshare system, friends can race the same track at different times by competing against each other’s recorded runs. This gives players another way to compare their racing skills without needing to be on the track together.
