Super Smash Flash 2 brings characters from different games, anime, and other series together in one fighting game. The gameplay follows the basic style of a platform fighting game. Players move around stages, attack their opponents, avoid incoming attacks, and try to knock rivals away from the stage. The game uses a damage percentage instead of a normal health bar. As the percentage rises, a fighter becomes easier to launch.

The character roster gives Super Smash Flash 2 much of its appeal. Fighters include familiar names such as Mario, Link, Kirby, Sonic, Mega Man, Pikachu, Captain Falcon, Samus, Fox, and many others. The roster also includes characters such as Goku, Naruto, Ichigo, and other fighters who do not appear in the official Super Smash Bros. games. Fights With Different Rules

Super Smash Flash 2 offers several ways to set up a match. Time mode gives players points for knocking out opponents during a set time. Stock mode gives each fighter a number of lives. A player leaves the match after losing all of those lives. Players can also combine different rules to create matches that suit their preferred style.

The game supports matches with up to four players in its standard group fighting mode. Computer-controlled fighters can join matches too, with different difficulty settings available. Players can also change character costumes and select different stages before a fight begins.

Special Moves and Character Styles

Every fighter has a set of normal attacks and special moves. Each character also has a Final Smash, which provides a powerful move that can change the action during a match. Since the characters come from different game worlds, their fighting styles can feel quite different. Mario offers familiar attacks from his games, while fighters such as Mega Man rely more on projectiles. This gives players plenty of room to try different characters and learn their strengths.

Super Smash Flash 2 also lets players customize the keyboard controls. Movement, attacks, shields, and special moves use separate keys, and the control setup can be changed in the options.
